The friendship between the creator of the Swiss Civil Code and a leading representative of the so-called Tübingen School of Jurisprudence of Interests begins in 1890 during their time together in Halle and lasts for over three decades until Huber's death in 1923. In their correspondence, the legal issues of the time are discussed, as well as questions concerning the the structure of university teaching, the development of law, and the creative role of the courts. Beyond that, the reader gains a very personal insight into the views of the time, the private circumstances, and the shared travels that the families undertook together.
