Surface preparation is of much importance because of the prominence attached to the entrance barrier in anodic oxidation by various workers in their theories. Several methods of surface preparation were known, such as abrasion, buffing, metallographic polishing, electrolytic polishing and chemical polishing, or a combination of these. The kinetics of anodization of Zircolay-4 and Titanim-12 were found to depend on the Nature of the electrolyte current efficiency, solvent, temperature and concentration.
