Description
Rather than cause further division, the purpose of this book is to provide a safe space for discussion around the topic of the deconstruction of Christianity. As with many subjects in this global era, there seem to be two opposing poles of view that are actually either end of a spectrum. These range from those who equate deconstruction with destruction to those who are throwing out faith completely. However, there are far more people finding themselves somewhere in between these extremes, trying to deal with inconsistencies and tension in their faith, all the while realising that they are in something of a no man's land, often under fire from both sides. This book seeks to not only clarify what is meant by deconstruction, but also discuss some of the aspects of Christianity that so many struggle with. It is not the author's intention to tell you what to believe or even justify these beliefs, but to simply pull them out of the closet and reassess the place, function and ramifications they have. Much of this work is based on Ruth's own journey, thoughts, understandings and observations, and she is the first to tell you that she has not finished yet.
