Seit vielen Jahren steht die Quitte an der ersten Stelle, um vorgestellt zu werden. Der Ausgangspunkt: Im Klosterladen der Englischen Fräulein in Altötting wurde bis 1997 Quittenbrot in runden Spanschachteln verkauft, das von allen europäischen Königshäusern einst als Delikatesse geschätzt war. Die Schwestern stellten es aus selbst geernteten Quitten her. Heute finden wir das Quittenbrot noch im Süden als "Dulce/Carne de Membrillo" in Spanien, als teureren "Cotignac" um Orleans oder als "Pâte de Coing" in der Haute Provence.
