Dr. John is a charismatic and colorful pianist, singer, and songwriter whose music often combines blues, boogie woogie, and rock 'n' roll. Born in New Orleans, his musical career began as a session musician in New Orleans in the 1950's. During his career he has worked with a veritable "who's who" of the music industry, including Professor Longhair, Frankie Ford, Joe Tex, Eric Clapton, and Mick Jagger.
