This previously unreleased recording was led from over four hours of material from Dizzy Gillespie s 1981 engagement at the legendary Montreal nightspot, The Rising Sun. Gillespie is heard with guitarist Ed Cherry, electric bassist Michael Howell, drummer Tommy Campbell and Sayyd Abdul Al-Khabyyr on flute and tenor. Dizzy s formidable career includes numerous, widely known recordings, and he remains one of the most influential jazz musicians of all the times.
