The complete original LP Dizzy Gillespie and Stuff Smith (Verve MGV-8214), which marked the second out of only two collaborations between Gillespie and Smith. On this occasion they play in a quintet format, with a rhythm section led by pianist Wynton Kelly. Their first recording date together had been a 1951 Dee Gee session, which is added here in its entirety. As a further bonus, we present another complete small group session by Diz taped the following year (also for the Dee Gee label), which showcases Wynton Kelly again on piano. Includes 16-page booklet.
