Magersucht und Kaufsucht zeigen neben Gemeinsamkeiten mit psychischen und Verhaltensstörungen durch psychotrope Substanzen, ebenfalls Gemeinsamkeit mit Impulskontrollstörungen und Störungen des zwanghaften Spektrums, da sie mit sich wiederholenden Verhaltensweisen oder Gedanken einhergehen und zahlreiche Überschneidungen hinsichtlich Phänomenologie, Komorbidität und neurobiologischen Grundlagen aufweisen.
Anorexia and compulsive buying show, in addition to similarities with psychological and behavioural disorders caused by psychotropic substances, also similarities with impulse control disorders and disorders of the compulsive spectrum, as they are associated with repetitive behaviour or thoughts and show numerous overlaps in terms of phenomenology, comorbidity and neurobiological bases. In both cases they are everyday, pleasant practices that develop into uncontrollable behaviors. In the present work, anorexia and compulsive buying are presented and compared with each other in their theoretical background and their treatments. A similar medication with serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SRI) and opioid antagonists is striking. Cognitive behavioural therapy, however, has proven to be the most successful method of treatment in both clinical pictures. An intensive study of a uniform classification and consequently more uniform treatment is proposed.
