- Default Title
Description
The topic is of interest in the field of 'migration/immigration', here in relation to the period from the 1960s onwards. The university course in political education at the University of Salzburg (2006-2008) dealt explicitly with this area in Module 9, 'Excursion: Istanbul', and its topicality was implicitly reflected in the location of the courses. In the university course Intercultural Competence/University of Salzburg (2011-2012), the topic of 'migration' was firmly established and the subject of a separate unit. However, religious and political aspects were not covered. Years later, the author was invited to give two lectures to the Turkish community in Vorarlberg - 'State Structure of the Republic of Austria' and 'Power of the Media'. The event arose from the temporal and spatial constraints, specifically with individuals, groups and institutions. Exemplary learning can be carried out using the case study method. The topic can be assigned to secondary level II education in the context of intercultural competence and media education, as well as teacher training. In adult and continuing education, the topic is assigned to the area of 'politics and society'.
