Description
These are the reminiscences of a Cavalry Officer of probably the most famous Indian Cavalry Regiment. Raised in 1803 as 'Captain Skinner's Corps of Irregular Horse', but known as "The Yellow Boys" owing to the colour of their uniform. But it is not really a book about 'the army', it is a book about people, places, and polo. The author, apart from being a dedicated soldier, was a brilliant horseman and polo player, travelling the world playing polo while on leave. Saw action in the First World War, on through the balmy years between the Wars, mainly in India, and then to fight in North Africa during the Second World War. Eventually, invalided out of the Army due to wounds sustained in Eritrea.
