In 1909 Charles Leadbeater, the leading member of the Theosophical Society, came across a young Brahmin boy on a beach in Adyar in Tamil Nadu. On 3 August 1929, Jiddu Krishnamurti was to be proclaimed the Head of an organisation formed in 1911 named the Order of the Star in the East.
