The Christmas Card List
After her mother's late November death in Montana, Jessica and her sisters find a large box of Christmas cards their mom had prepared but never mailed. Sending them off without explanation seems wrong, but throwing them away is out of the question.
By reading their mom's hand-written messages to friends and family and knowing what others sent to her, they keep her alive a little longer. But the Christmas cards do more than that. They end up leading thirty-something Jessica out of her work-focused life and into romance.
Derek, a tax lawyer from Boston, is in Montana attending to matters after his own mother's passing when Jessica hand-delivers a mysterious card from the box to his address. It almost seems the card is meant to bring them together. A gain from two losses. Until a tragedy from the past threatens to end the relationship on Christmas Eve.
