The central objective of this book is to reflect on the centrality of Michael Löwy's Ecosocialist Theory and the importance of his thinking in the face of a chaotic order. It is dedicated to a critical analysis of the current socio-environmental crisis in contemporary society, brought about by the capitalist mode of production. Given this complex panorama, the analysis turns to a reflection on Sustainable Development strategies as an alternative to contain the environmental collapses and impasses evident at the end of the 20th century. In this way, the ecosocialist horizon aims to present a new project for society, in defence of a new, more just and democratic social order. The development of this theoretical approach aims to develop an alternative/investigative approach to the socio-environmental problems present in societies. As this is a current issue that affects the entire world, eco-socialism is a theoretical approach that can organise the current crises on the global stage.
