Teaching Work and Educational Policies:

Teaching Work and Educational Policies:

0 - Default Title
Description
This publication aims to disseminate and value teaching work and to portray, based on qualitative research, the new configurations that teaching in Basic Education has taken on in the state of Minas Gerais - based on demands imposed by the government through the teaching work control policy implemented since 2003. The central element of the investigation is Individual Performance Evaluation (ADI) as an administrative tool based on managerial rationality that aims to control teaching work through the implementation of the Management Shock programme in the Aécio Neves government. In this sense, changes in teaching work were verified based on this evaluation process, embodied in policies for the continuous evaluation and monitoring of teaching work. It contextualises the restructuring of education that has taken place in recent years and of teaching work, in the face of the globalisation of capital. Therefore, it is clear that this management model, exclusively focused on the political, economic and ideological interests of the government, has had negative impacts on the health, management and organisation of teachers' work.
