The physiological stress created by training can only be transformed into positive adaptations if it is accompanied by adequate and quality sleep and proper nutrition habits. When sleep and nutrition are neglected, recovery processes are disrupted, performance development is limited, and the risk of injury increases. Therefore, training, sleep, and nutrition must be considered as complementary fundamental components in the sustainable development of athlete performance.
