Il y a 50 ans... la découverte d'Aï Khanoum : 1964-1978, fouilles de la Délégation archéologique française en Afghanistan (DAFA)

Il y a 50 ans, les premiers coups de pioche étaient donnés sur le site d'Aï Khanoum. Les fouilles qui ont pris place sur le terrain entre 1964 et 1978 ont révélé l'existence d'une grande ville grecque au nord-est de l'Afghanistan. Ce petit ouvrage est là pour nous rappeler toute l'importance de cette découverte, qui marque un tournant pour les études de l'hellénisme oriental.

50 years ago soundings were undertaken on the site of Ai Khanum and excavations took place on this site between 1964 and 1978; those works revealed the existence of a large Greek city in the North-East part of Afghanistan.

The aim of this book is to remind us the importance of this discovery which marks a turning point in the studies of Oriental Hellenism.
