Borders : encounters of Bamako 2009 : the african photography biennal

The Bamako Encounters have become an unmissable photography gathering. One of the major international biennials, they are the most important event dedicated to the promotion and exposure of artists from Africa and the African Diasporas.

Whether presenting previously unseen work from emerging talents, or works by established artists such as Malick Sidibé, Kader Attia, Fazal Sheikh or Barthélémy Toguo, this catalogue shows a large part of the eight hundred photographs and videos selected around the theme and questionning of « Borders » for this eighth African Photography Biennial.
