Description
[Protestants Without Protest. The Evangelical Church of the Palatinate During the Time of National Socialism]Protestantism and National Socialism went to a great extent hand in hand in the Palatinate. National Socialist functionaries saw themselves as good Protestants. Church representatives were partially enthusiastic followers of National Socialism. A distinctive church struggle ("Kirchenkampf") didn't exist. The present manual gives an overall picture of the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate during the time of National Socialism. By embedding it consequently in supra-regional and political contexts and in the context of every day life it stimulates reflection on the history of National Socialism as a whole. The first volume presents an overview of the development of the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate. The second volume opens up - by means of selected short biographies - approaches to the understanding of different attitudes and behavioural dispositions.
