Sämtliche Klaviertranskriptionen

0 - Default Title
Description
Piano transcriptions offer the opportunity to portray the color spectrum and aural diversity of an entire orchestra on the piano. One brilliant example of such works is offered by the piano transcriptions of Moritz Moszkowski. Celebrated in his own lifetime as a composer and virtuoso, after his death Moszkowski slipped slowly into oblivion--undeservedly, since his transcriptions bring together all the facets of a virtuoso arranger. He made transcriptions of piano works and orchestral music, as well as of operas. In his recording of Moszkowski's entire transcription output, Christof Keymer impressively presents the compositional refinement of diverse adaptations, which easily bear comparison to those of the great Franz Liszt. Includes the bonus of Moszkowski's musical parodies, in which he humorously imitates the compositional styles of Chopin, Brahms, and Bach.
