Description
Chris Pierce grew up in Claremont, California a small town of activists, trees, and PhD's. Claremont still holds a place in Chris's heart as an oasis that seems to foster philosophers, educators, and musicians. As a boy, he bagged groceries at the local market, and pursued acting and singing in local theater presentations, and appearing on notable television shows.
Pierce lost his father in 2000. He remembers him fondly as a big brother figure. A cool guy with a powerful presence, beautiful voice, and a fine collection of vinyl records. He describes his mother Carole, as an angel in his life with an infinite amount of warmth and happiness. When Chris was a child, his parents encouraged Chris to explore his obvious gifts. Chris began writing songs when he was only five years old and has grown up to craft fearless introspective rhymes about his own life and human experience.
Before he was old enough to drive, Chris was playing sets in clubs around Los Angeles and had been a repeat guest on the television show Big Break, hosted by Natalie Cole. Still in high school, he began playing gigs with his guru Grammy nominated rock ax-man Jon Butcher. At only nineteen he performed on a road tour with Sonia Dada all over the U.S.
