About Angelo
Angelo Pinto was an Italian-American, World War II Army Veteran, and former washer/dryer repairman. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA, he was a humble, hard-working, loving, easy-going, and generous man who inspired and captured the hearts of everyone he met. In 2011, Angelo passed away at the age of 93. He was married to his wife, Anna, for 63 years and he is currently survived by 8 children (and their spouses), 9 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. This book was written to honor his memory.
About the Author/IllustratorChris Conolly was born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA. He is a self-taught author and illustrator and Angelo's Garden is his first book. Growing up in a single mother home, the greatest and most influential role model growing up was his grandfather, Angelo, who raised Chris like a son. After working in marketing for several years, Chris changed careers and became an elementary school teacher and literacy specialist. He is also a 4th degree black belt and international instructor in Tang Soo Do martial arts. Chris' hope is that Angelo's Garden will bring inspiration and a smile to people of all ages while keeping his grandfather's memory alive
