Zodico Blues & Boogie

Zodico Blues & Boogie

0 - Default Title
Description
The music is stomping, Louisiana/Cajun/good- time/bluesy stuff that will put you in a party mood very quickly. Or at the very least get your foot to tapping. Chenier was one of the best and certainly one of the most important performers of this style of music. This set of early recordings will take you back to those days of plain old stomping/dance music that has no pretensions except a good time. This album is in a sense a companion to "Bayou Boogie", an early Chenier album from the same period--the 1950's. When people unfamiliar with Zydeco music hear the word "accordion" they freeze. But this isn't your typical "accordion music"--not by a long shot. Besides Chenier on accordion and vocals (in both English and French/Cajun), he has a small band that includes tenor sax, piano, guitars (Philip Walker and Lonesome Sundown), bass, drums, and scrub board (played by Chenier's brother Cleveland). And when they get to playing, their music is not quite like anything you've heard before.
