Published in 1967, "Portuguese Guitar", is his first 33 rpm disc, recorded in the studios of Paço d'Arcos, following the viola de Fernando Alvim. The album also marks the first collaboration with Hugo Ribeiro, the sound engineer who, years later, Carlos Paredes would say he was the only one to know how to capture the sound of his guitar.
