Hotel Victoria

0 - Default Title
Description
Since 2011, Carel Kraayenhof has played in addition to other projects also with the Argentine pianist Juan Pablo Dobal in the duo. Born in Buenos Aires in 1964, the Wahl-Dutchman has his roots in clical piano, has been dealing with the musical tradition of his native country since his study time. The duo alternates their fascinating interpretations of polyrhythmic Argentine folklore with their own compositions. They succeed in switching between the sound of a stormy orchestra and the subtle chamber music play of tangos and milongas effortlessly. "Hotel Victoria"- a tango that gave this album its name, dates back to 1906 by Feliciano Latasa, who named it after the famous Grand Hotel Victoria in Buenos Aires. The fabled place was a meeting place for many artists and musicians who tried their luck in the big city and hoped for their breakthrough. The hotel as a port for travelling musicians. A music experience is a crazy, beautiful life, the life of a "loco lindo"!"
