Based on the story of Leonard Chess the co-founder of the legendary Chess Records label CADILLAC RECORDS is a film that chronicles the rise of one of America's great recording institutions. Throughout the 1950s and '60s Chess was the premiere label for blues and R&B putting out music by such iconic talents as Howlin'Wolf Muddy Waters Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. The soundtrack features contemporary R&B and hip-hop stars Beyonce Mos Def Jeffrey Wright Raphael Saadiq and others (who also appear as actors in the film) covering well known tunes including 'I'm a Man' and 'No Particular Place to Go ' made famous by the original Chess
