Here's are some real raw hillbilly music, and a few early Nashville Sound classics. In 1953 Jimmy came up from Louisiana and got a Dot Records contract on the strength of 'Cry, Cry Darling'. These two CDs follow his career through to 1958, taking in some of the finest hillbilly and rockabilly and country-pop of the era. Altogether, there are 47 titles including 'A Fallen Star', 'Diggy Liggy Lo', 'Daydreamin'', 'Crying For A Pastime', 'Blue Darlin'', 'Honky Tonk Tears', and 'Carry On'. 2-CD set contains all 47 masters from Dot, 7 of which are previously unissued, plus a 16 page booklet.
