The Waitress is a crime thriller set in a small town. Camilla Waters is a local waitress at the local diner. When we meet Camilla and Michael it becomes evident Camilla is dealing with residual effects from verbal and mental abuse as her mother used to be a belligerent alcoholic. With Michael wanting Camilla to face her trauma, Camilla feels overwhelmed by his lack of understanding with her hesitance stemming from a parent who has had substance abuse issues. We learn about Camilla's interests and how her indecision plays a huge part in her life. We follow Camilla through her journey and how she is friendly with everyone in town, they all regard one another very highly. This story is a slow burn with hair-raising twists to keep you guessing. Soon after Camilla and Michael are engaged, we discover they have been abducted. We follow their experience closely as well as their emotions during this horrific experience. It's a suspenseful journey and a psychological rollercoaster as we see how Camilla, Michael and their loved ones are coping with this disappearance. This work of fiction is not based on anyone known nor does it follow any true story.
