Description
Dieterich Buxtehude was a 17th Century composer and organist of the Baroque period. He was a considerable influence on Johann Sebastian Bach. Known primarily for his keyboard works he became the organist at Lubeck Cathedral in Germany in 1668. It is here that he reached the height of his powers and popularity. Graham Barber performs some of his notable pieces from that era on The Organ at the Church Of Peter Mancroft, Norwich. This was built in 1984 and to reference from the building of early German Organs. As a result the organ re-creates a remarkable sound and fidelity. Graham Barber has specialised in performing early organ works through a large part of career to substantial critical acclaim.
