Excerpt from Weekly Station Reports of the Division of Dry Land Agriculture<br/><br/>Survival of winter rye is very good, but winter wheat stands appear rather uneven at present. Crested wheatgrass sown last fall with a furrow drill in the new sod rotations is emerging with excellent stands.. Older plantings are now green in contrast to other forages. The calving season at the station is well along. Native grass is becoming green in some places, however, showers and warmer weather are needed to accelerate growth. 'weeds along ditches and in parts of the irrigated alfalfa fields were raked and burned. It is yet too early to determine the extent of winter injury, if any, to alfalfa.
