Waves of Grief
0 - Default Title
Description
In his first book, Dr. Bullock shared the story of Martha's encounter with Jesus upon the death of her brother, Lazarus. Building upon this premise, he briefly shares insights from Martha's sister, Mary. You will also read of his various life experiences that shaped him and formed his ability to endure the waves of grief that came upon him unannounced.
Standing on the beach in Florida, there was a moment of anxiety and fear that caught him off guard. In the ensuing moments, he realized how grief is not temporary or limited in its effect of us. Rather, grief, like the ocean that was in front of him, keeps coming in various moments. These moments can be triggered by past experiences or during times of isolation. But as he shares many different experiences, it is done through the eyes of a father who grieves for his daughter.
Waves of Grief is about a father who lost a grandson of whom he grieved but still grieves for his daughter who, after losing her son, will never be the same. Her heartbreak broke his heart. Her pain intensifies his pain. Her anger fuels his sorrow because he is unable to soothe what hurts her. And her life has forever changed his. But then, like the ocean waves, grief can help us to find ways to love deeper, experience a different kind of grace, and accept healing as we move forward, living life with hope, happiness, and a heart full of joy.
