It is put together to resemble a machine in order to evoke visual experiences that bring you to a world beyond what you ordinarily experience.
The book has a tendency toward the metaphysical. It is truly one of a kind. The book gives the experience of fog is made through the overlap of completely clear cards. The design plays with colors. And there a places with no colors.
The fully illustrated cards are made with cardboard and cut out in an artist book. Bruno Munari who lived until 1998 was not only a great Italian designer, but he was also a great artist, and has ties to important movements such as Futurism and characters such as Lucio Fontana.
The first edition of The Circus in the Mist is made with heavy cardboard and color illustrations. This is a rare book that can tempt any collector. Its value is estimated at around two or three hundred Euros.
