From Prairie to Mountain - Neil Astle's Modern Vision
0 - Default Title
Description
The author, Bruce Wrightsman, is a Tenured Professor with the McEwen School of Architecture at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. He is a licensed architect with over twenty-five years of experience in the United States. As an educator, Bruce has over a decade of experience serving as instructor on multiple award-winning academic Design/Build projects. Bruce's research is divided into two areas of investigation. In the first he examines the pedagogical and social efficacy of Design/Build curricula across North America. In the second he explores Alternative Building Strategies where the architectonics of building has resulted in an architectural pursuit of reducing the ecological footprint of a building through material selection, and alternative building approaches in relation to the site. Bruce has also been researching the work of architect Neil Astle, (1936-2000) and his innovative approach to design, sustainability, and craft.
