Stroke is a major public health problem, both in terms of frequency and consequences. Strokes in the vertebro-basilar vertebro-basilar territory account for 20% of cases. Ischemic strokes ischemic strokes involving the brainstem (CT) are difficult to diagnose, and the CT scan of the brain is usually normal. Hence the importance of knowing the anatomo-clinical correlations to assess the territory, the vital prognosis and the need for cerebral MRI.In view of these diagnostic difficulties, we propose this manual as a teaching aid for neurologists, radiologists, emergency physiciansand family doctors, to help them better assimilate and understand the different and the various alternative syndromes of CT.
