Guitarist Paulo Morello and saxophonist Kim Barth have brought together this "super group" of legendary Brazilian vocalists to give the classic bossa nova sound a fresh and contemporary feel. The core of the group is made up of Johnny Alf, considered by many to be the true father of bossa and Alaide Costa, who is revered as the "Billie Holiday of Brazil". After the release of their first album with Morello and Barth, they toured Europe to great acclaim. They are now joined by two new voices, Leny Andrade and Pery Ribeiro, both of whom played important roles in the development of bossa in the 1960s. The album features classic bossa compositions from the 1960s with clever arrangements by Morello and Barth marked by swinging guitar, fluent saxophone and sparkling flute lines.
