Energy use from biogas generated from pig waste

0 - Default Title
Description
This paper presents a general diagnosis of sustainable development using biogas from pig farming. It examines the technical and economic feasibility of distributed generation from residual biomass. The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and carbon credits are presented, analyzing their social, environmental, and economic gains. Consequently, the legislation relevant to the electricity sector regarding the connection and commercialization of energy generated from the anaerobic digestion of solid waste and organic matter in general is analyzed, relating it to environmental legislation. Thus, the production of energy from biogas is investigated, as well as how this energy can be generated and used without harming the environment, that is, minimizing the environmental impacts caused by the improper management of waste by confining this organic matter in a biodigester. The use of the biodigester offers biofertilizer and biogas as by-products. Finally, there is the annual revenue obtained from the sale of carbon credits, electricity generation, and the use of biofertilizer.
