Going Places Doing Things

0 - Default Title
Description
The Bob Cats, led by pianist Ed Metz, have taken for this tribute recording a set of tunes originally recorded by either the Bob Crosby Orchestra or the Bob Cats between 1936 and 1942. This collection, concentrating on some of the less well-known works of the band, captures the flavour and the energy that the original Bob Cats displayed so well. The selection of tunes will remind listeners that the Bob Crosby units recorded many traditional jazz selections, including several march based tunes, in building its reputation as the leader in Big Band Dixieland. 'Going Places, Doing Things' provides a varied and musically colourful look at the jazz and pop hits of the pre-World War II era. Personnel: Ed Metz - (piano, musical director), Werner Lutz - (trum), Harold Johnson - (trombone), Terry Myers - (tenor & soprano saxophone), Paul Hubbell - clarinet, (soprano & tenor saxophone), Bob Leary - (guitar), Carl McVicker - (bass)
