Letter To The Deist

0 - Default Title
Description
One of the earliest contributions to the controversies about deism, A Letter to the Deists outlines Prideaux's belief that deism is the foundation of any religious belief, which set him apart from those writers who believed that deism led to atheism.

It is bound with Charles Leslie, Short and Easie Method with the Deists. Samuel Jackson was alleged to have described Charles Leslie as 'a reasoner who was not to be reasoned against'. He was a prolific author, writing about all the important political and theological issues of the time. This book was reprinted well into the nineteenth century. In the eighteenth century it was popular book for parents, grandparents or god-parents to give to children in order to protect them from the evils of deism.
