La Loupe is an exciting and successful series of French readers written specifically for pupils, in order to motivate and inspire them to read French books for pleasure.
The series has three difficulty levels (the levels are clearly colour-coded) in order to be accessible to all Key Stage 3 and 4 learners of French. This gives all pupils the opportunity to read for personal interest and enjoyment as the National Curriculum requires. These difficulty levels are reflected in the corresponding activities in the Teacher's Book.
To be certain that pupils really do take up reading opportunities the full La Loupe series offers pupils the chance to read about topics they find interesting and exciting. Written in an unpatronising tone, the books cover topics that will interest, encourage and motivate both boys and girls.
The three levels give teachers greater flexibility and allow pupils to progress at their own pace. Pupils' confidence will increase as they see themselves progressing onto the higher levels from the earlier lower-level books.
