The book also includes reprints of some early sources, such as a chapter from the 1943 book "Town That Saved a State: Westerly" by Mary Agnes Best and Thomas Perry's 1956 paper for the Westerly Historical Society on the history of mills. The main mission of this book is to give a representative and somewhat random, sometimes familiar and sometimes forgotten, peek into several creative and practical enterprises of Westerly's past and present.
