Philipp Bernhard prüft diese Frage anhand einer systematischen geschichtsdidaktischen Analyse »postkolonialer« Lehr-Lernmaterialien. Er leitet daraus vier Grundüberlegungen (»Claims«) für eine Umsetzung postkolonialer Theorieansätze in der Geschichtsvermittlung ab. Dabei zeigt sich: Die Geschichtsdidaktik muss die Postkoloniale Theorie kritisch reflektieren, kann aber auf deren Impulse für die Weiterentwicklung von Theorie und (Unterrichts-)Praxis nicht verzichten.
Postcolonial theory is a topic of ongoing heated discussions: for some it is a "super theory" for the age of globalization, while others see it as an elitist discourse that only leads to sectarian identity politics. But what role can it play for the field of history didactics theory and for history teaching? The study answers this question via a systematic analysis of "postcolonial" teaching materials. The result are four "claims" for the implementation of postcolonial theory in history education. The analysis shows that history didactics must critically reflect on postcolonial theory, but cannot do without its impulses for the advancement of both its theory and the teaching practice.
