It was May 2001 when the first issue of BUTT magazine landed with a bang. It was about time to shake up the commodified, clean-clut image of homosexuality. And that's exactly what BUTT magazine has been doing for the past five years. A lot of material from the now rare, earlier issues of BUTT magazine is finally made available again in this anthology of the first five years of BUTT, including conversations with Michael Stipe, Gus Van Sant, Rufus Wainwright, Marc Jacobs, as well as contributions from Wolfgang Tillmans, Terry Richardson, Hedi Slimane, asianpunkboy and Helmut Lang, just to name a few.
