Slovakian Resophonic guitar player, Lubos Bena, and Czech street musician, Matej Ptaszek, return to the traditional form of African music of the 1920 s and 1930 s. The Resophonic guitar, known as the Dobro,invented by Slovak emigrants, becomes in Bena s hands, a rhythmic, refined and expressional instrument. Bena has travelled inside the American states of Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee to discover the authentic sound of the blues. Matej Ptaszek, a singer and harp player, considers street music the most unstudied background for blues performances in the same way as musicians of the Mississippi delta. Lubos Bena and Matej Ptaszek s interpretation of the blues is delightful and unrestrained.
