Besides being an exciting and historic live recording (made on the well-travelled band's first tour in eastern Europe), this session from Dresden, 1971, reveals and important change,after 15 years in existence, in the musical style of Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband. Banjo-player Bjarne ersen had just been replaced by pianist Jorn Jensen, giving the excellent, highly inspired musicality of the band a more modern sound and style(which persists to this day), thanks to Jensen's excellent arrangements and stronger emphasis on swinging. The great enthusiasm of both the band and audience on this historic tural/political occasion is clearly evident.
