Urban road deterioration and sustainable development

0 - Default Title
Description
Understanding the influence of the degradation of urban roads on the process of sustainable development in the commune of Ngaoundéré 2nd in a context of crisis of the Cameroonian welfare state is the problem of this study. It is unambiguous that long-term development cannot be achieved without passable road infrastructure. The degraded state of urban roads, however, appears to be the result of the combination of natural factors linked to aging and climatic conditions, the ignorance of the population, deviant behavior which takes shape in corruption, the misappropriation of public funds allocated to the rehabilitation of urban roads and power games within administrative authorities. This deterioration therefore affects the well-being of the population through the proliferation of traffic accidents and pulmonary diseases while leading to its impoverishment following the premature wear and tear of vehicles and the decline in entrepreneurial power in the environment, thus giving sustainable development the status of stillborn.
