Am Karfreitag 1724 bringt Johann Sebastian Bach seine Johannes-Passion zum ersten Mal zur Aufführung. Thomaskantor Andreas Reize veröffentlicht nun bei Rondeau Production die erste Einspielung seiner Rekonstruktion der ersten Leipziger Fassung. Ganz nach historischem Vorbild platzieren sich die Ausführenden rund um die Bach-Orgel der Leipziger Thomaskirche. So kommt die große Orgel als Continuo-Instrument zum Einsatz und ermöglicht zugleich ein Musizieren in historischer Stimmung. Neben dem Thomanerchor musizieren die Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin und ein hochkarätiges Solistenensemble. Die Solostimmen für Sopran und Alt sowie alle Soliloquenten übernehmen junge Solisten aus dem Thomanerchor. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Johann Sebastian Bach performs his St John Passion for the first time on Good Friday 1724. Thomaskantor Andreas Reize is now releasing the first recording of the reconstructed first Leipzig version. In accordance with the historical practice, the performers are positioned around the Bach Organ in the Thomaskirche Leipzig. The large organ is used as a continuo instrument and at the same time allows the music to be performed in historical tuning. The Thomanerchor is accompanied by the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and a high-calibre ensemble of soloists. The solo parts for soprano and alto as well as all minor soliloquising roles are performed by young soloists from the Thomanerchor.
