Drummer/percussionist Babatunde Lea leads an all-star cast of musicians through a fiery combination of groove oriented jazz with strong Afro-Cuban, Caribbean and African influences. He's joined by guest artists Raul Midon (guitar, vocals) and Jana Herzen (vocals). The bonus CD is a 25 minute live version of Wayne Shorter's classic composition 'Footprints' featuring Ernie Watts on tenor saxophone and pianist Hilton Ruiz. Over his 50 year career as a musician Babatunde Lea has been the drummer / percussionist of choice for the likes of Pharaoh Sanders, Stan Getz, McCoy Tyner, Randy Weston, Leon Thomas and Van Morrison.
