L’histoire racontée dans ce roman est celle des amours maudites : celui d’un arabe pour sa voisine juive, celui d’un exilé pour sa ville avec pour toile de fond, l’intolérance, la haine et la violence, sentiments qui composent le cortège des sociétés troublés.
