Web Usability

0 - Default Title
Description
In the internet age, the Brazilian government is concerned with promoting universal access and increasing use of electronic information media so that public administration can become transparent and increasingly closer to users. This work provides an analysis of usability on four Federal Government portals: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, and Presidency of the Republic, based on the seven guidelines adopted by the Usability Primer - Web Standards in Electronic Government: (1) Context and Navigation, (2) Information Load, (3) Autonomy, (4) Errors, (5) Design, (6) Writing, and (7) Consistency and Familiarity. The book features an online research tool for analyzing web usability developed by the authors and tested by 128 users who analyzed and identified weaknesses and opportunities for improvement in each portal, as well as assessing the extent to which the sites can be considered efficient in terms of usability. The work is recommended for undergraduate courses involving computer applications in Business Administration and Information Technology.
