A cross-sectional type of descriptive exploration was carried out in the 2012 session on the assessment of nurses' knowledge and practice regarding the prevention of postoperative wound infection at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital of Bangladesh by using a purposive sampling technique to collect data. Total respondents were 70. Length of service of them ranges from 05 to 16+ years. They are from a large hospital in Rajshahi. The main objective of the book was to assess nurses' knowledge and practices in the prevention of postoperative wound infection Postoperative wound infection involves high cost, long hospital stays and suffering of the patients, including families and the care system. Most respondents have enough knowledge about the prevention of postoperative wound infection, but nearly about half of them only apply this knowledge into practice in terms of postoperative wound infection. Respondents have service experience from 1 to 21+ years and were more conscious in providing better care to prevent postoperative wound infection than others.
