He played with phenomenal facility despite being nearly blind from birth. The Art Tatum Solo Materpieces, Vol. 1 was recorded for Pablo Records founder Norman Granz from 1953-1955. Newly reissued and enhanced with 24-bit remastering from the original og tapes, it features seven additional selections that were not included in the original LP release.
